Hand

For the past several months, Lucas had been making steady progress on picking up new vocabulary words and has even begun stringing words together to make sort-of sentences. His most frequently used "sentences" are:

"Don't like it" (when trying to get him to eat something he doesn't want - usually a vegetable)

"Car coming" (when you're anywhere near a road and he sees a car)

"Pee pee on potty" (when he has to go to the bathroom and feels like telling someone about it)

"Read Ellie's room" (when he wants to read a book in Ellie's room)

"Back hurts" (because for some reason he's always saying his back hurts. Not sure if his back actually hurts or he just says this a lot because he can)

"Come Mommy" (when he wants me to go somewhere with him and is literally dragging me)

"What happened, Mommy?" (when someone makes a face that he thinks is distressing, or raises their voice)

There are other words he says that are just simple words but have lots of meaning behind it. For example, he puts his hand up and says "Hand" when he wants you to hold his hand. And when he wants you to hold his hand he wants you to take him for a walk, so "hand" really means, let's go for a walk.

His new favorite word, however, is "Why?" And so it begins...
