Luke is three weeks old this week and I must say that not all that much has changed from last week, but he is changing and growing in little ways. He is still an incredibly sleepy baby - now he sleeps maybe 19 hours a day instead of 20. He is gaining better control of his head and focusing on things a little bit more, but has not mastered either of these things quite yet. He still eats every two hours at night, which has sent me into the throws of sleep deprivation, but every once in a while he'll go three hours and I will wake up feeling incredibly refreshed. Amazing how the body adjusts to not getting sleep!

We are getting to know him a little more, as he has begun to clearly voice his likes and dislikes. His dislikes include being cold, taking a bath, being put down and being in his cradle. His likes include sleeping, eating, cuddling with a warm body, his big sister Ellie, his bear mobile and the baby Bjorn. He tends to get fussy every night at dinner time like clockwork, but it seems to be a social thing, because as soon as he's picked up and joins the family at the table he calms right down. He just doesn't want to miss out on the quality family time!

Ellie continues to be a great big sister, and so far the novelty of having a baby in the house has not worn off (as our pediatrician warned might happen). Last week, Oma, Ellie and I were walking home from a quick trip to the playground and we passed a woman pushing a stroller with a baby and a preschooler walking beside the stroller. As we passed them, Ellie said "We have a new baby at our house too." See the video in the post below to get a sense of how crazy Ellie is about her little brother (and how tolerant he is of her!).
